Suggestions?
I am in an AP Music Theory class at my high school and for the final project I have to study nationalist music.

I also have been assigned a project to write a composition in the style of Bartok. I thought that it might work to structure the melody around an American folk tune (I'm trying to use Big Rock Candy Mountain) but I am having some trouble deciding how to structure the harmonies and how dissonant I should make the piece.

What are your opinions?

(x-posted a bunch, sorry.)

printable music to analysis
hi.
i'm currently in a form & analysis clas. i really need to brush up on my harmonic analysis, and i was wondering if anyone could help. I'm looking for a website that offers free, printable chorales, or piano music that would be great for analysising both form and harmonic analysis. I'd appreicate it very much!!

while some folks are at the beach next week it looks like i'll be spending my spring break doing anaylsis .... cant decide if thats frown worthy or not.

Sheet Music Needed for voice class
I really need the voice part to the song "Walking in the Air" as it is performed by Nightwish. I already have the accompaniment. If someone is willing to do it, I will upload the song for you and, if you have paypal (and if it's legal, I don't see why it wouldn't be), pay you, probably around $5.

Has anyone heard of "Fermat's Last Tango"? I'm arranging the music for it for my school, and was wondering if anyone had any advice for arranging musicals.

Oh, and by the way, I'm new here.

If anyone has the music program Finale, I've created a community for anyone who has questions. This is mostly a help forum, so if you have questions, go join.

Sorry if you don't allow promoting communities, but I think this community is beneficial for this community.

Print Music
Hey there, is this community dead? I hope not.

I loved arranging when I was in college. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to Finale or even a piano. Now that I'm done with grad school and I'm settling down, I've joined a community band and realized how much I miss all aspects of music. I'd like to get back to arranging in my spare time.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Print Music? Is it as good as the full-blown Finale?
